Hike Hockley Valley

Here we are having the BEST time at Hockley Valley! It was an awesome hike of 11 hikers for 4 hours. We did a lot of walking up and down hills ... a great cardio workout! We saw a little snow, a woodpecker, chipmunks and we even bumped into some people following the route chartered over 300 years ago. They were dressed in the traditional dress of that time. There were two women, and British and French soldiers. They took the time to explain why they were doing what they were doing, and it's all part of our great heritage, culture and national pride. Our hike was along the Bruce Trail and two side trails that form loops. As you can see, the weather was on our side too. :) Thanks to everyone who came out, thanks to the drivers and thanks to Beth for sharing her pictures with me. Hope to see you all out again for the next hike! :)

Hike Rattlesnake Point to Crawford Lake

What a gorgeous day to hike! The weather was definitely on our side for this trip. The sun was shinning the whole day and the temperature was just right. A group of 10 hikers came out and enjoyed the day hiking from Rattlesnake Point to Crawford Lake. We hiked both the Bruce Trails and other side trails to complete a 13 km(approx.) hike with lots of places to take in the view of the Nassagaweya Canyon in all its fall color splendor. Lunch was at a lookout point. Lots of great company, conversation and fun. There was only once we took a wrong turn, but corrected ourselves quickly and made it without getting lost! All in all, it was a great start to a new hiking season. Hope to see more of you out for our next trip! :) Thank you to all the hikers that made it out. :)

Hiking in Cape Breton, NS

Derek and I had a wonderful time in Margaree, Cape Breton the last week of August and the first week of September. We went on an amazing hike there to Egypt Falls. It was a challenging trail with a steep descent to the falls. There was a rope to aid in the climb. This has most certainly inspired me into getting back into organizing hikes in Ontario. Can't wait to see you all there! :)
